Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin distributes several million pounds of food each year through its programs and partnerships. Located in Madison, our food bank creates impact across southern Wisconsin by connecting hungry people to the food they need.
Second Harvest Madison is an affiliate of the Feeding America food charity, which is a United States-based nonprofit organization uniting a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks. Together, these food banks feed more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies and partnerships.
Big Presence, Bigger Impact
With well-established roots in southern and southwestern Wisconsin communities, we are able to serve struggling individuals and families through hyper-local partnerships. Because each community is unique, the needs of its most vulnerable residents must be met with care. Second Harvest Madison partners with hunger outreach agencies to support their food-distribution efforts, in addition to our hunger-relief programming.
Our partners include:
- Emergency food pantries
- Senior meal sites
- Mobile pantry sponsors
- Residential programs
- Soup kitchens
- School pantries and children's nutrition programs
How You Can Help
It can be difficult to trace the impact of donations to large, nationwide nonprofits. With Second Harvest Madison and the Feeding America network, you can drill down to the community level and see the full impact in each town, city, and county.
Through your support of Second Harvest Madison, you can help connect people to the right kinds of food for a happy and healthy life. Our impact is especially transparent when 94 cents of each dollar donated puts food on someone else's table; every dollar donated equals three meals!
