“No one ever thinks that this is going to happen to them, but when you do find yourself in this situation, it’s nice to know there are people out there to help us.” Gabby, Client

Girl smiling with healthy carrotsThanks to our supporters, Second Harvest Foodbank helps those facing hunger in southwestern Wisconsin through a variety of programs that have evolved over the years beyond food distribution. Now, in addition to distributing millions of pounds of food every year, we help people understand and apply for government programs like FoodShare, and we are building relationships with the healthcare community to bridge the knowledge gap about the health impacts of food insecurity.

Even after 30 years our work is not done. This year in southwestern Wisconsin an estimated 25 million meals will go missing. While Second Harvest will provide about 13 million meals, and another 8 million meals will be provided by others in the emergency food system, millions of meals still go missing every year.
