Million Pound ChallengeDates: January 1 - May 31
Details: Thanks for your hard work through the Princeton Club's Million Pound Challenge! The goal of one million pounds of food donated to Second Harvest Foodbank and our emergency food pantry partners was achieved in early March. Please continue to reach your personal exercise or weight loss goals and report results weekly through May 31 on the Million Pound Challenge website. Individuals, teams and schools can still join and track their goals! Let's see how high we can go and make next year a multi-Million Pound Challenge to help our neighbors struggling with hunger!
Details: All-City Swim League pools and their communities are holding the annual All-City Swim Meet Food/Fund Drive Challenge to raise funds and food for Second Harvest's Madison area partner food pantries and Kids Cafes. Learn more.
Details: Generate a donation of one meal to Feeding America by purchasing specially marked packages of select ConAgra Foods brands (Banquet, Chef Boyardee, Healthy Choice, Hunt’s, Marie Callender’s, Manwich, Orville Redenbacher’s, Peter Pan and Snack Pack) and entering the eight-digit purchase code at www.childhungerendshere.com. Limit of entering 5 codes per computer per day. The leaderboard map of codes entered is updated once daily. Plus, by entering zip code 53718, you're helping Second Harvest Foodbank in a competition amongst the country's Feeding America member food banks to receive $10,000 from ConAgra Foods. After entering a product code, you can download original versions of the “Here’s Hope” song.
Madison Marathon Volunteering
Dates for sign-up: starting March 5 (shifts can fill as soon as March/April so don't delay!)
Details: Give time as a Madison Marathon volunteer over Memorial Day weekend (May 26-27) and you can also raise funds for Second Harvest Foodbank—$8 for every hour volunteered! Sign up online today. To designate the Foodbank, first, register as a volunteer and set up a username and password. Then select "Events" and “2012 Madison Marathon" to register your volunteer availability and choose “Second Harvest Foodbank” from the charity drop-down menu. Details: Give time as a Brat Fest volunteer over Memorial Day weekend (May 25-28) and you can also raise funds for Second Harvest Foodbank—$8 for every hour volunteered! Sign up online today. To designate the Foodbank, first, create a profile with a username and password and select "Second Harvest Foodbank" as your "Group". Brat Fest will confirm your profile and email you within 48 hours to sign up for your desired shifts. View descriptions of volunteer positions and step-by-step directions for signing up.

General Mills Outnumber Hunger
Dates: April 1 - May 31
Details: General Mills has partnered with Feeding America to secure more than 15 million meals for local Feeding America member food banks. You can generate a donation of five meals to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin by purchasing select General Mills’ products and entering the purchase codes and the Foodbank's zip code 53718 on the Outnumber Hunger website. As a thank you, you can download a song from a Big Machine Label Group (such as Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Taylor Swift).

Details: Help Build-A-Bear Workshop provide meals to kids and families facing hunger by donating $1 at the register during checkout. Second Harvest Foodbank will receive $0.80 for every dollar donated in our service area; the remainder support the Foodbank's national organization Feeding America.

Capital City Transfer, Inc.- MOVE For HUNGER
Teaming up with Wheaton World Wide Moving and its agent, Capital City Transfer, Inc., MOVE For HUNGER collects unopened, non-perishable food from those who are relocating. Their professional moving staff assists in boxing the donations during the moving process and delivers food items to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. Learn more about MOVE For HUNGER.
Community Change
Save 50% or more on gift cards for more than 60 local restaurants, salons, spas and other shopping merchants with program proceeds benefiting Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. Click on "Second Harvest Foodbank" from the charity dropdown list at checkout and 20% or more of the purchase price will be donated to the Foodbank. Heartland Credit Union Go Local

Make donating part of your shopping routine! Donate your non-perishable food items at Hy-Vee on E. Washington Ave., Madison. Stop by the donation cart at the front of the store for a list of foods most needed by the Foodbank.

Two Men and a Truck's Food on the Move
Moving? Instead of throwing out good food, donate it! Planning a move with Two Men and a Truck? Have food you don't want to move? Food on the Move is just for you. Unopened, non-perishable food and non food items can be given to Two Men and a Truck crews on moving day for delivery to Second Harvest Foodbank.
Every Tuesday, stop by Vintage Spirits & Grill (529 University Ave., Madison) with your donations of funds and/or non-perishable food and receive a special incentive!
