All-City Swim Meet Food/Fund Drive to benefit Second Harvest Foodbank

Thanks for raising 131,799 meals during the 2009 All-City Swim Meet Food/Fund Drive Challenge! That's double the number of meals raised in 2008! Your food and fund donations benefit Second All-City Swim Meet Food/Fund Drive Challenge for Second Harvest FoodbankHarvest Foodbank's Madison-area partner agencies (food pantries and food programs).

Hunger is a reality for 1 in 8 Americans, including millions of children, seniors and working families. Here in our part of the state, more than 100,000 people don’t always have enough to eat and 39,000 are kids. These kids are just like you except they don’t always have access to enough food for three meals a day.

With your donations, your neighbors and friends at risk of hunger will have more meals.

Q&A

All-City Swim Meet Food/Fund Drive Challenge for Second Harvest Foodbank

How is a challenge winner selected?
The challenge is measured in meals per swimmer not pounds or number of items. The pool that has raised the most meals as of noon on the final day of the All-City Swim Meet is announced as the winner that afternoon.

How does my pool's food pantry/program get our donations?

For all food and funds collected during the drive, Second Harvest issues a credit to the benefiting food pantry/program’s Foodbank account. This way, each food pantry/program can select from Second Harvest Foodbank the food most needed for its customers.
